Building the WiFi Robot

12 years 7 months ago #29525250 by DaddyMagic
Hi

I am FINALLY going to be able to buy the DC motor controller for my robot. I have been goofing around with this for the past 2 years.

I have a frame, two wheelchair motors, and two deep cycle batteries which I want to use for the bot. I have been reading the instructions for building the WiFi robot and think that I can do it.

I am looking to go with the AX2550 MotorController, and most of the things from the ingredients listing on the Roboteq page.

Has anyone else built that robot? I think I will quickly get to the point where I am over my head.

Andy...

I have gotten:
1 * Roboteq AX2550 DC Motor Controller
1 * VIA EPIA ME6000 Mainboard
1 * 2.5” notebook drive with 5G or higher capacity

Seems to be out of production,
* iTuner PW60 power supply with extension wires

Does anyone know of an appropriate power supply?

I am also looking for the software from the links in the WiFi robot instructions

Cannot find this (the link is no longer good)

# VNC remote desktop software

I think that this is a good power supply:

VNC is a shareware program. Several versions are available. See for example www.tightvnc.com/

For the power supply, see www.mini-box.com/M3-ATX-DC-DC-ATX-Automo...-car-PC-Power-Supply

minibox.com has other models but you need one that allows the widest input voltage range so that the motherboard is properly powered even as the batteries discharge

I\'ve got my DC Motorcontroller, and most of the other parts to build my platform.

I am now working on getting the Mini ITX board wired up in the little enclosure I bought. $33 seemed cheaper than what I could build out of lexan.

I hope to post pictures soon.

I got my enclosure, and mounted my

Board to it,
Hard-drive (sata drive :( need adapter for 40 pin IDE)
I have an adapter, but now it is too tall for the enclosure.

So got a 90degree adapter for the sata cable..

Have a lookit..
