controller for DC motor

I have a DC industrial motor Baldor with following specification: 0,75 horsepower,1750 R.P.M.,ArmFfield volts-90, amper- 7,6. What kind of motor controllers is fit for my DC motor? It is possible to design it for me? I\'m going to use this motor for geophysical winch and I need that I can change speed and direction of winch and also in my winch I will use hi resolution optical encoder for depth determination.
