HDC2450 with Analog joystick

11 years 4 months ago #29526075 by rayclout
Hello readers

I have a HDC2450 controller driving two dc motors with which I would like to use an analog joystick connected directly to the controller (by way of DB25 connector) for tank steering.

The joystick has center position output of 2.5V

I have read through the manual for information on the implementation of this but have found it more confusing.

Could somebody give me an idea of how i might go about doing this?

Thanks for any assistance and best regards
Ray

Simply connect the joystick to any free analog input.

Then configure that input as command for the desired motor channel(s).

By default, the analog command is the 3rd priority in the list, meaning that it will be active if the controller is not already receiving commands from the serial/usb or from an RC radio.

Beware that the analog input has a safety that will not enable the joystick until it is centered (2.5V).

Thanks Cosma
yeh, I figured that out myself using the utility.

The utility I\'ve discovered is more useful than I originally had given credit for.
