I have the AX500, along with a 4V/31Amp dc power supply. I'm planning on powering two linear actuators for a senior design project. I am a little concerned about blowing the motors since their stall amperage is 8.11 amps. I have read that the AX500 can be programmed by the user to protect against overpowering the motors but I don't want to risk blowing either of my motors. Any thoughts?
The AX500 max output current can be adjusted using the software Roborun provided with the controller. You may want to set it slightly above the max operating current of the actuator, but below stall.
Also two fast fuses in series with each actuator will certainly help to avoid damage.
