I am taking a real life automotive vehicle and turning it into a radio controlled car. I understand the dangers and risks involved but it would be the only one like it in my area now what I need from you is help in telling me what I would need to finish this project. I need a 4 channel device to control 4 servo motors for gas, break pedal, steering wheel and transmission to switch for park, reverse, neutral, drive.

We make electronic motor controllers and many of our customers have used our product in building autonomous cars, especially in the DARPA Grand Challenge area. You will need two controllers, to control four servo's (throttle, brake, steering, gear) in closed loop control mode. We recommend our AX2550; based on the characteristics of the motors you will actually choose a less expensive controller may be used.
Linear actuators are normally easier to use rather than motors equipped with a coax potentiometer.

Price of our controllers is at www.roboteq.com . You can order online.
As far as the other components you need to contact a reputable distributor for pricing; if you need help with the design you may want to hire a system design house.
Our web site lists few system houses who are familiar with the design you have in mind.
