Telemetry over RS-232 without RS-232 commands received

Hello everybody,

in my current setup I'd like to send different values periodically from the MBL1660 to an external controller I'm using over RS-232.

1) For starters I tried to configure this over the telemetry option in the 'Configuration' tab of the roborun+ utility (over USB, just to see how it would work). After restarting the controller I opened the 'Console' tab but no data arrives after the usual startup-parameters. My telemetry string looks like this: ?A:?V:# 200: (I also tried without the ':' after '200')

I found a different thread on the forum where the usage of the command history feature was explained for this purpose and sending
?A
?V
# 200
over the 'Console' tab worked fine. How do I have to configure the Telemetry String in the 'Configuration' tab to make it behave like when I use the command history feature?

2) Another problem I'm facing is that RS-232 should be used to send the data to my external controller but I won't be sending anything on RS-232 to the MBL1660. Is it possible to receive the periodically sent data over RS-232 while USB is still plugged in and not having used RS-232 to send any commands/queries to the MBL??

Thanks in advance,
Felix

The telemetry string function is something that has been problematic and we have not yet been able to resolve.

The function is is in the configuration tab under startup.

In terms of the connections, if you set your Roborun utility to set the com port to whatever the USB is assigned, then you should be ok. This way the utility is talking to the controller specifically through the usb comport.
