I am attempting to use a SBL1360 Motor Controller in Closed Loop Speed Mode. However, I am unable to receive any encoder feedback. I have followed the connection diagram in the datasheet and connected my CUI AMT 102-V Incremental Encoder to pins 10 and 15 while providing 5v and Gnd through pins 5 and 14 respectively. My issue is that in the datasheet it states that "Encoder input requires RC inputs 1, 2 and 3 to be disabled. Pulse inputs are enabled in factory default." and I am unsure how to do this. I have attempted to disable pulse input using the PMOD command as well as the PINA command but when I query the controller with ?C it always returns 0.

Wire up to pulse inputs 1 and 2(pins 4 and 8). Disable the pulse inputs 1 and 2.

Are you using the Roborun+ to configure this?

Thanks a bunch. Works. Now I just need to tune the PID.
