Using HRS100SSAB180 hall sensor as a Pot

I want to replace my analog potentiometer with HRS100SSAB180 hall sensor ( sensing.honeywell.com/product-page?pr_id=47866 ).

It has a GND, Out, and Vdd. I guess Vdd goes into any of the 5V outputs on the controller. Should I put it in place of a pot on analog input or does it go into a pulse input? I understand that these things are static-sensitive, so I don't want to ruin it by plugging it in incorrectly.

your pot would work like an analog pot an should be connected to an analog input

If you have not purchased already, consider this part www.usdigital.com/products/encoders/absolute/rotary/shaft/MA3

It has a pwm output that our pulse input can capture with greater accuracy and stability compared to analog solutions
