Encoder feedback via CAN bus? was created by ASI
I have an application that uses a CANOpen absolute encoder. Is it possible to read the CANOpen feedback from this encoder directly with an MBL1650CN controller and use it for closed loop position?

Hello,
Unfortunately the firmware does not support that kind of firmware. You have to write a script which will read this data and use them in a closed loop position.

OK, so it is possible to do through the scripting system though? I just want to make sure the firmware can make the controller use the input from the script rather than the standard quadrature signals.

No, this cannot be done by firmware. You will have to set the motor mode to open loop and implement a closed loop system in scripting language. The result of the system can be set to motor command.
