Can not control the MDC2260CS via Roborun+ was created by Smiling
I have installed the latest version of Roborun (V1.5 oct 10, 2015)
I am using windows 10.
I manage to connect to the controller via USB (com3)
The status shows that I have firmware "Roboteq v1.2 RCB400 05/31/2013"
Controller Model ="Missing" (in the upper right corner)
Configuration tab: Input/output working as it should. Power output is empty
Run tab: Command area is empty, can not give any command to the controller.
When trying to upgrade firmware. I choose "Update controller firmware via USB" on the Console tab.
I get the Roboteq DFU loader. Here I can chose the lastest Firmware v1.6
But the three buttons "Upgrade" "Abort" and "Quit" are all grey and not possible to click.
And the drop down meny "Available DFU Devices and compatible HID Devices" is empty, noting to chose.
The Stat LED showing Idle - Waiting for command
And when I choose upgrade the LED start to flash faster "Short detected"
Any idea what might be the problem?
/John

The firmware that is on that controller is very out dated. You will need to try to update the firmware via RS232 connection rather than USB. Follow these instructions:
>Download most recent firmware update from our website (v1.6).
>Connect controller to PC via RS232 (not usb).
>Open Roborun+ and go to Console tab. Select "Update controller firmware via comport"
>In the popup window select "Manually Select the Controller Port" and then select the port number which your controller is connected to.
>Select "Browse" to choose the recent firmware you downloaded in step one.
>Select Program.
After following these steps let me know the result.

Thank's for quick replay.
I tried those steps. But Roborun did not manage to find any com port.
I have a USB to Seriall adapter "Prolific USB to Serial Comm Port (COM5)"

John, most likely you need to install the driver for your USB->Serial adapter. In device manager check to see if "Roboteq Motor Controller (COM XX)" shows up under Ports. If not than a driver is needed. I did a quick search and found the Prolific PL2303 driver download HERE.

Yes I manage to download a new driver for Prolific. Thank's
Now Roborun found the USB to Serial adapter (COM5)
I start to download of the new firmware, but get the following error after a while
"Controller found on COM5"
"Reseting the controller - Done"
"Waiting for device restart - Error"
"Device starting String not detected"
And Roboteq Motor Controller (COM5) don't show up under Ports
I see Profilic USB to Serial Comm (COM5) instead.

Did the firmware update make it all the way through "Programming Successfully Completed"?
If after doing the firmware update the device still doesn't show next to Controller Model in upper right corner, then call me at 480-664-6660 ext 2#). We can set up a TeamViewer session to take a look together. Please install the free TeamViewer software beforehand.
