MBL1330 won't drive motor in open-loop mode was created by Al1142
Recently got a MBL1330.
Connects fine on USB or with 232
Can read and write controller configuration
Setup for open-loop operation - sensorless - no hall effect sensors
Roborun+ - Rev1.6 6/7/16
Firmware ID Roboteq v1.6 MBL1XXX 04/14/2016
Stat light does the single blink - corresponding to 232/USB mode.
Gone thru combinations of settings, cannot find one that actually gives me an output on theW V U lines -
Run command in the roborun "run" page has no effect (if I set the run value large enough, it does show stall light on that same page)
Also tried a simple script to go the motor - also no effect.
Any clues on what's not being enabled here? Seems like open-loop should at least attempt to drive it.
Thanks,
Al

The MBL1330 does not have the ability for sensorless control. This is the reason your motor is not moving. Currently the only controller available for sensorless control is our FBL2360. You will need to use a motor with hall effect sensors with your controller.

OK, thanks, I'll see what I can do with this.
...a note - looking at the product description for the FBL2360 that you mentioned, it says -
Product Page
FBL2360 Brushless DC Motor Controller, Dual Channel, 2 x 60A, 60V, Hall sensors input, Encoder input, USB, CAN. Requires Hall Sensors to drive motors. **RC5, RS1-25, and ABCX2 cables not included. Order separately**
Thanks again,
Al

Yes this is a new feature that has not fully been released and the documentation has not yet been updated. You can find the details of our sensorless communication in our
Brushless Controller Manual
