PWM duty cycle input was created by Arunya
Hi,
i am using SDC2130, and try to command motor driver with pwm duty cycle mode.I use signal genarotor to genarate duty cycle 20%-80% variation.I use toure mode close loop.I did calibrate 20% as min and 80% as max.But motor run 50%-60% one diraction and 50-40% other diraction.I cannot access the full range 50%-20% and 50%-80%.Motor rated max current is 3A and power supply also 3A.I will be thankfull for you help.

What do you have your PID gains tuned to? Based on the symptoms that you have reported it is likely that your gains require further tuning? We recommend beginning with PID=0,1,0 and then testing from there, changing as needed.

PID Gains were start with 2.0,1.0 and 0. I did put recommnd values, and k increase gradually with I.But results are same.when come to 60% duty cycle, motor suddenly stop and no rotation for beyond 60%. and also other diraction, 40% motorstop.I run with open loop, it works perfectly through the range of 20%-80% duty cycle.Look for futher guidance..Thank you

When in Torque mode this means that the PWM output is proportional to whatever you have set as your Amps Limit. In your case I see you have 5A. That means that at 100% PWM 5A is being sent to the motor. However, you mentioned that your motor is only capable of handling 3A so it makes sense that your motor is stopping at 60% PWM. 5A*.6 = 3A. At 60% PWM your motor is already reaching the maximum current that it is capable of as well as the maximum current that your power supply is capable of. I would recommend changing the Amps Limit to 3A.
