Differential encoders on MBL1660

Hello,

I have a differential quadrature encoder. I thought using a MBL1660 drive to control my motor. I wanted to plug directly the four outputs of my encoder (A, A negative, B and B negative) on the drive. However, on the documentation there is only the inputs ENC-A and ENC-B, and not ENC-1A, ENC-1B, ENC-1B and ENC-2B as on other models.

Does it mean that we cannot use directly a differential signal on the drive and that we either have to use only the two positive signals or have to use a differential line receiver ?

Best,
Guillaume

Our motor controllers do not accept the differential signals (A' and B'). They will only accept single ended quadrature signals (A & B). I understand this may be confusing form what is stated in our user manual, please see the clarification in our User Manual Errata .

Thank you for this clarification. I will use some differential line receivers then.
