Feedback issue when using Hall Effect sensor

6 years 6 months ago #29532754 by jennuine
Using the VBL2350 with firmware version 1.7, the hall effect sensors for our brushless motors will not be configured as the feedback sensors for each respective motor.

While the hall counter and the hall RPM reports are correct and update with motor rotation, the feedback reports do not update when the hall sensor is configured as the motor feedback. This causes all closed loop motors to not work correctly. This is a new issue as with firmware 1.3, the bug is not reproducible however there appears to be bugs with the PID implementation.

The steps taken for configuration are:
  1. Updated the VBL2350 to the latest firmware
  2. Reset the controller configuration
  3. attempt to configure the hall sensor as the feedback for motor 1 using Roborun GUI
  4. test PID
  5. attempt to configure the hall sensor as the feedback for motor 1 using the serial commands
