« Segway-like » application with FBL2360 + Raspberry pi?

Hello,

I'm designing a kind of « Segway » system for hobbies, and I was thinking about using one FBL2360 dual channel controller driven by a Raspberry Pi 3 board (using CAN bus or analog outputs) + accelerometers + gyros. The two brushless hub motors I already have have (6 pole pair, model Crystalyte 406). I'm wondering if these components would fit together and allow precise closed-loop control to achieve stability + smooth control?

Best Regards,

Benoît.

Yes you should be able to achieve stable and smooth control with this motor

Will the controller be able to quickly reverse around « zero point » following the accelerometer information I will provide to it, like doing fast forward/backward to maintain mechanical balance?

Yes it will

By the way I'm not sure what Accelerometer module you are using but we offer a micro board that has full accelerometer, gyro and magnetometer capabilities. It is also CAN enabled and able to easily communicate with our motor controller. Just thought I would show you this in case you haven't already seen it. It is our RIOX1216-AH board

Thanks for the info about the board. In fact I already had an AD/DA board on my Raspberry Pi, providing 12-bit DACs, which should do the job.

I have just ordered the FBL2360 controller, can't wait to play with it :)

Best Regards,

Benoît.

PS: I meant also a board with accelerometers/gyros and a GPS function from SKPang
