Wiring 6 motors with the XDC2460 was created by Jones
Hi all.
I'm building a 6-wheel-drive robot and I have a couple of questions regarding the control of 6 motors with a dual channel controller...
I'd like to control 6 motors with the XDC2460.
The XDC2460 is a dual channel controller capable of supplying 150amps per channel.
I plan to run 3 motors on each channel.
Rated current for each motor is 20amps. Max current is 45amps. (48v)
3 x 45 = 135 max amps drawn per channel.
Seems OK to me. What are your thoughts?
Also, am I correct in thinking that wired in parallel, the max current would be 45amps, but wired in series the max current would be 135amps?
Thanks in advance

Per the
XDC2460 Datasheet
the controller is rated for 150A peak (<30s) per channel and 80A continuous. This will not be sufficient do drive your six motors continuously. It is recommended to use one dual channel one controller per pair
