Motor controller setup for regen thru serial

5 years 5 months ago #29533532 by Simple25
Advice needed,

I have just gotten my hands on the rgdc1896. I have a dual motor setup which is used for a drive on one side (using kelly controller) and a generator for the other (using the rgdc1896). Using the pc utility i am able to drive that motor. If i would like to use it as a generator, what setup must i do (on the pc software and wiring connections) and it is possible to control the regen thru the serial?

Thanks
noob

Regeneration current from our controllers is simply sent back to the power supply through the driver MOSFETs. I would recommend checking our application notes on the matter: Understanding Regeneration , and Controlled Regenerative Braking using Real Time Speed Sensing . Some consideration for regeneration using our controllers are also covered in our User Manual .
