Deadman switch with deceleration

Deadman switch with deceleration was created by taakinsi
Hello,
We are using the deadman switch on our AGV when an obstacle is detected. However, I expected that it would still follow the deceleration set on the motor config instead of just stopping instantly. How do I configure the switch so that it stops the motors using the deceleration setting without writing a microbasic script?

This isn't really the intended purpose of the deadman capability. What happens when you throw a safety stop?

Safety stop also does not follow deceleration.

Also, why do you say this is not the intention of the deadman switch? The documentation says it's for stopping the motors. Motors resume when deactivated.

Deadman switch, and safety stop, should try to shut the motor motion even in the case of damage to the controller itself due to regeneration. They both have safety connotation to them for operators. We will be implementing a feature in newer versions of firmware that allows you to set a deceleration for safety stops, however for what you are trying to accomplish, the best thing to do is to write a script that sets your motor command to 0.
