How to configure: brake release pins? was created by agunduz
Hi, I'm using FDC3260 and brushed DC Motors. Motors have internal brake. In the FDC3260 datasheet it says: "Four general purpose 24V, 1.5A output for brake release or accessories". Which of the pins are these general purpose output pins? Are they the digital outputs?

If yes, how can I configure them to work as Brake Releasing Pins? There is no such option in the Roborun+ software. (Please see the attached image)

Hi again,
I would like to activate or deactivate brakes using RS232 and the command !D1 nn. What should be the "Activate When: " option?

Also these pins are open collector and I will connect one pin of the brake to 24 V and the other pin of the brake to digital out pin. Is this the correct way of doing this? There will be 1.2A current passing on that digital out pin.

You should set "Activate When" to never. That way you will have direct control over the output using the !D command, and don't have to worry about the controller setting the pins automatically.

Brakes are often inductive loads, so you will have to make sure you use a flyback diode. Most brake packages have one built in.
