Hi guys,
I would like to know if I run my controller in Closed Loop Speed Mode and send it a serial command to go to an absolute encoder position, will it go or I’ll need to put it in Position mode?
I am asking this because I am about to use it to control a Pan and Tilt camera head and for that the most suitable mode is the Speed Mode but I would like to be able to use the User Variables to record some encoder position memories and then call them later to send the head to those previously recorded positions.
Am I being too ambicious?

Hi,
It will be much simpler if you use a closed loop position mode. Then you will be able to directly ask to go to your recorded positions. And if you want to control the head with speed set points, you can still integrate the speed you want to determine a position trajectory. That is what the closed loop speed position mode does by the way.
