Configuring encoder was created by coach_marco
Hi,
Quick question. I just want to confirm that I am configuring the encoder Pulses/Rev. on my sdc2160 properly.
This is my procedure. Is it correct?
1. Start Roborun / connect to controller
2. Set Encoder 1 to Use: Feedback
2. Set the motor 1 operating mode to Open loop
3. Monitor the Counter 1 Channel on the Run tab as I hand crank my robot's wheel one revolution (Counter 1 is set to 0 before I do any cranking)
4. Take the value found from Step 3, divide it by 4, and set that as my Pulses/Rev for Encoder 1
5. Rinse repeat for Encoder 2
Is there anything more to it?
Do I need to make considerations for motor gear ratio?
I'm currently getting roughly 1000 counts from the Run tab, so I'm setting my Pulses/Rev to 250.
Thanks for your time

Hello coach_marco
Tis is what you have to do for setting the encoder in a DC controller.
Regarding the gear ratio, i believe that the encoder is mounted close on the wheel so you are getting correct value as feedback
