Amp reading

Amp reading was created by yarfik
I have just begun to bench test my new ax2550.
RC mode works fine as does 232 mode except:
The amp and peak amp readings are not reading correctly.
Unloaded, my handheld shows the magmotor drawing about 3 amps. The reding pc screen says 0. I have to apply drag to the motor to increase amp draw to 15 as read by the handheld to have the pc display even 1 amp. My new laptop does not have a serial and I am using a usb adapter. I do not get any error messages but wonder if this could be the reason for the problem.
PS: Voltage and powers readings work just fine.

Try uploading the controller firmware again. The first time the controller is powered up after a new firmware install, it calibrates and stores the 0A value. It may be that this automatic calibration procedure did not complete properly last time the software was loaded.
Latest software as of 6/24/04 rev is 1.5s. You may download from www.roboteq.com/download/roboup15a-052204.obj

I am also having this problem, and was about to ask Cosma about it. This was a new out of the box AX2850HE with the latest firmware (1.7b? i believe). Everything else is working fine, but no amps/peak amps readings in roborun.

We will look into this to verify that there is no flaw in the software.

What do you consider a low value, that may be the solution there. I am using a motor then when connected to an amp meter reads at 2.1mp draw, will it read that?
I also reloaded the software as well and new firmware.
Perhaps it relates to certain types of motors it can read only?

2.1 A is at the very bottom of the range. The controller should report a value of 1, maybe 2.

Try loading the motor to increase the current. If you do not see a controller reading at say 5 to 10A, then something is wrong.
