According to my RIO Configuration utility the firmware version is v1.2 RIOAHRS 09/18/2013
1) Is that the correct version for a NON AHRS rioboard(the RIO-IO)?
2) Latest?
3) Trying to use PWM output but when i set it in config utility it sets back to "Magsensor Capture". Manual says "RC Output mode is not yet implemented in version 1.0 of the firmaware." Is it not implemented in v1.2 either?
4) Fetching latest firmware and update firmware in utility fails at Programming succesfully completed.
any ideas?

I got the same error on my. I ended up selecting manual comport afterwards as the firmware caused the auto port detect to stop working. I still got the same error. There is a newer firmware release I will need to look for.

Try this one. I did the update and got the error, but if you close it out, the controller should show that the unit is upgraded and reports back the correct firmware ID.
Make sure to select the manual comport.
If it says waiting for reset, simply cycle the power to the controller.

I am very sorry to say this, but this is BS. I have bought this card because it has PWM outputs and I have only had various problems ever since I got it, every single one of them having to do with poor design, poor software (missing files in new version of tool, install old first, then new?!) etc.
And now I find out that the PWM that you advertise with is actually not available yet? Come on, fix this ASAP as I need to control the speed of my motors (which run with other brand drivers).

Well, I have the motors working through the analog outputs, which I have accessed through /dev/ttyAMA0, as the driver does not yet support these outputs. Since we are already this far, I'm afraid we will still try to complete the project using your cards.
But just a question: Are you still actually actively developing or supporting these cards, or are you going to stop them, as it seems the development on the driver and firmware has stalled?

We have stopped supporting this card. We should sent out emails a while back to all customers who had bought the Rio's stating that we are no longer in production of these controllers.
