AX2500 Locking Up was created by Quarter
This problem occurs when a temporary very high load is drawn on my AX2500. Occasionaly the unit will lock up with the unit still providing power at the rate when the lockup occurs. The only way to release the control is to disconnect the controller power. Specs below:

controller power supply voltage 12 (independent from motor battery supply)
motor voltage 24v
estimated motor current drawn at time of lockup - 100amps
estimated high current draw duration 5 seconds
AX2500 temperature 100f
led display - frozen in last position
capcitor at junction of motor power input cables and battery supply cables 6900mfd.

Any suggestions?

I can't think of any situation that would cause such a lock up.
If the MCU was to feeze, the internal watchdog timer would cause it to reset. Furthermore, it sounds like when you cut the main power (but leave the controller on through the battery power) it unlocks but without the need for resetting.

What are you using to send the commands (RC, analog, RS232). It is usually best to use the PC utility for troubleshooting anyway.

We are using the Roboteq with a Futaba 9CAP R/C unit. To expand on resetting the controller; It stays locked after the main 24v motor power is disconnected. The 12v controller power has to be pulled to unfreeze the unit.
