Hi, i just start working with roboteq's technologies (HDC2450 controller) on my graduation's final project. As my first step i just want to send commands to the controller (already implemented by the previous students) using a RS232 connection from the PC (DB9) to the controller (DB25). I followed the manual's instructions to make this cable - using the 2,3 and 5 pins of each port. The problem: The ROBORUN+ utility doesn't recognize my controller despite recognizing the firmware and turning on the green light at the bottom of the software's windows. I tried via USB and it worked well (the software did an automatically scan as soon as i plug in the USB cable). Here are prints corresponding to each ROBORUN+'s tab:

Hi there, when using Serial connunication, please make sure your settings are 115,000, 8, N, 1
I see that your controller is seen partially in the attached pics, however you may want to update the firmware to the latest versiion on our website
listed as version V1.8b Also please make sure you have the latest roborun utility as well.
Best regards,
Steve Bozsi

Yes it is working. After 3 weeks of research without results, we decided to try to connect our rs232 cable to another port of our computer (our computer only has 1 so we had to switch to another computer), now it's working fine. Probably it was some missing windows's configurations, drivers for example. Well, it gave us a free advice: always check the basics things first haha.

You can try another method.
I used a laptop and software for remote access to the HDC2450 controller. My desktop computer was a client, and the laptop was a server. RS232 extender gave me the opportunity to use the HDC2450 controller on a computer with full functionality.
Friends, I hope this method helps you.
