I have this project in mind that I\'ve done a lot of researches lately and found that Roboteq dc motor controllers with provide all of my needs

An idea about my project

1- robot with treads ( 2 x dc motors )
2- live video cam streaming
3- wifi network controlled
4- joystick controlled
5- mounted robotic arm on the top.(and here is the problem)

Roboteq controllers are limited to 2 channels output which will be enough to the robot movement.

But I need at least about 3 to 4 extra channels to control the arm or to add a PTZ to the camera.

I am a newbie to Roboteq, and can not figure it out how this could be possible with the available controllers at Roboteq.

I hope to receive some help, recommendations and more from you guys. Thanks a lot in advance.

We will soon be publishing an updated version of the wifi robot dev.roboteq.com/dev1/robotics-motion-con...gn-instructions.html

It will use a roboteq AX3500 instead of the AX2550. The AX3500 has adequate power for this robot and has 8 output for RC servos. These outputs can be used to control a robot arm and/or a pan/tilt camera.

I\'ve checked the manual of the AX-3500 controller, and especially the 8 R/C outputs section. In the R/C controls tab found in roboteq PC utility, I\'ve noticed that it’s very limited, ( no mixing between servos movements and etc...).

My question is, can these servos be controlled through the microcomputer using the pc utility, and have mixed controls and effects the same as the 2 x main dc motors.

Thanks a lot for your help, hope am not asking a lot.

The PC utility cannot do more that let you move each servo individually. The only way to do something more sophisticated would be via writing a program that runs on the PC.
