Topic-icon Minimum controller voltage?

I've had recurring problems with our products left on in the past with previous motor controllers until the batteries run so low they are ruined, I'm wondering what the drop out voltage would be with your controllers, I use MBL1660s, FBL2360s, MDC2460s, MDC2230s, and MDC1460s. Id rather not use a low voltage cutoff relay or something like that, so I'm hoping the controllers will just shut down when voltage gets low, but not so low to ruin the batteries.

A low voltage cutoff relay is actually not a bad idea. Our controllers don't have any internal switches regarding power supply.

When the voltage drops below a user specified value (that can be configured from Roborun+) the controller will give an UnderVolt fault and will not provide any power to the motors, but it should keep it's MCU powered. The absolute minimum voltage that a controller needs differs by model, but we generally recommend a minimum of 12 V.

Outside of an external relay, I don't think there is any way to completely shut off power consumption of the controller unfortunately. You could also try grounding power control. That will shut the controller off, however that also requires external hardware.
