Firmware/Hardware Design Engineer - Motion Control and Robotic Systems

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Firmware/Hardware Design Engineer based near Athens, Greece.

Summary of Role

In this role as Firmware/Hardware Design Engineer, you will be working with a highly motivated team to bring to market innovative solutions for customers in the AGV, Robotics and Industrial Automation Markets. Key aspects for this role will be to develop, test, and document new firmware algorithms and to design, test and document new hardware modules to support our platform products.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform ARM Microcontroller firmware implementation or modify existing firmware to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces, improve performance or optimize implementation.
  • Defining the design specification of electric powertrains at a system level – considering benefits and compromises of the full powertrain.
  • Architecture definition, component selection circuit design, schematic entry.
  • Spice/Matlab simulation of new circuitry.
  • Prototype development and design validation.
  • Innovating and delivering solutions to difficult problems
  • Provide technical documentation for the design, implementation, and testing of the firmware.
  • Produce and review technical documents, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Create and execute functional test setups.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 3 years’ experience programming Microcontroller Peripherals such as GPIO, timers, USARTs, CAN, I2C, SPI, etc. especially with ARM Cortex (STM32 and NXP) microprocessors.
  • Proficient in C programming, Integrated Development Environments, firmware versioning tools, and test tools.
  • Experience with Altium, Spice/Matlab and layout design.
  • Good knowledge in Electronics.
  • Experience in motor drive techniques for PMAC, AC Induction, IPM Motors is considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of communication Fieldbuses: CAN, EtherCAT, Profinet, Modbus, etc is considered a plus.
  • English language: good speaking and writing level.
  • Good communication skills, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.
