We're excited to announce the release of firmware v3.0f for our RoboG4® Brushless DC motor drives, which is now in production. This firmware brings significant updates and fixes to the RoboG4 drives.

Key improvements in this release:

  • Improved MOSFail and STO indication functionality.
  • Fixed Amps Limit configuration via CANOpen.
  • Fixed a Motor/Sensor fault triggered upon E-Stop release when using an SSI sensor.
  • Fixed Extended RawCAN message acceptance.
  • Improved motor current measurements when operating with a resolver.

Known issues:

  • Incorrect status LED indication during DFU mode.
  • Resolver and SinCos motor performance remains limited compared to other sensor configurations.
  • RawCAN and Extended RawCAN accept up to 15 unread CAN frames instead of the expected 16.

Nidec Automation strongly recommends that all users update their projects with the latest RoboG4 firmware to take advantage of its enhancements.
